wsjt-x and quisk

Nick
Trying to use wsjt-x with quisk and a softrock ensemble RXTX.

Mint Linux 64-bit, Python 2.7.6, python-wxgtk2.8, Quisk 4.1.3, WSJT-X 1.7.0.

Using two pulseaudio null sinks to link wsjtx's audio to lin_digital_input_name and lin_digital_output_name.

Using alsa to link quisk's IQ signals to the sound hardware.

It seems that I must select DGT-U mode for lin_digital_output_name to work on RX.

The problem is that selecting DGT-U on TX breaks lin_name_of_mic_play, which becomes inactive.

Hence no TX output.

Using USB mode and linking wsjtx's audio to lin_microphone_name and lin_name_of_sound_play works fine.

What am I doing wrong?

Re: wsjt-x and quisk

kc7noa
are you using pulseaudio?

I ended up using another soundcard on my Odroid-X2 (ALSA) --- not sure if snd-aloop is broken or if its a kernel issue ...

But when you initiate Tx ... look to see in pavucontrol if the sink is set correctly ....
If your using alsa or other ... i have no idea ... i could never verify where the sound stream was going through snd-aloop when switching to Tx.

sorry im not much help ...

Yes.  To route wsjt-x audio in and out of quisk.

Yes it looks OK.  The problem is on the IQ side of quisk.  There appears
to be some problem with lin_name_of_mic_play when you select DGT-U.

Good Day
Ubuntu 15.10 64-bit

I did as it is written in http://james.ahlstrom.name/quisk/docs.html#Digital
some information about digital modes and QUISK is here http://hiqsdr.com/index.php?title=HiQSDR-Digitalmodes

It is my config
it is my modules of alsa sound

andy66@ra3tes:~$ cat /proc/asound/modules
 0 snd_ca0106
 1 snd_cmipci
 2 snd_usb_audio
 3 snd_hda_intel
 4 snd_aloop

part of my quisk_settings.json
......
      "lin_digital_output_name": "alsa:Loopback Loopback PCM (hw:4,0)",
      "lin_name_of_sound_capt": "alsa:CA0106 CA0106 (hw:0,0)",
      "lin_digital_input_name": "alsa:Loopback Loopback PCM (hw:4,0)",
      "lin_name_of_mic_play": "alsa:CA0106 CA0106 (hw:0,0)",
      "lin_name_of_sound_play": "alsa:C-Media CMI8738 C-Media PCI DAC/ADC (hw:1,0)",
      "lin_microphone_name": "alsa:C-Media CMI8738 C-Media PCI DAC/ADC (hw:1,0)",
......
it is from WSJT-X.ini
...
SoundInName="plughw:CARD=Loopback,DEV=1"
SoundOutName="plughw:CARD=Loopback,DEV=1"
...
Maybe this will help you

Re: wsjt-x and quisk

Nick
Thanks for your reply.

Using snd-aloop to connect wsjt-x to quisk does not work in Mint 17.3
(Ubuntu 14.04).

wsjt-x uses Qt Audio.  Qt in Mint 17.3 is not compiled with alsa support.

Is the Qt in Ubuntu 15.10 compiled with alsa support?

Or have you compiled Qt yourself?

Re: wsjt-x and quisk

RA3TES
Hi
I was install wsjt-x simply
sudo apt-get install wsjtx
Instruction from the NET
"All install actions are performed in a terminal
sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:ki7mt/wsjtx-next
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install wsjtx
That should do it; search your Applications Menu's for WSJT-X
"
